Volunteers are matched up with either an individual or group to help that person/group  to have a stronger voice.  The role of the volunteer is to listen to the person's point of view, and help that person to speak up whenever possible for themselves, or if needed to speak for them.  The volunteer helps the person to understand their choices/decisions which they want to make. Training dates are available. Required 2 hours per week upwards. Volunteer Advocates have access to professional support, on-going accredited training opportunities and a wealth of information and resources.

What skills do I need?


*  Friendly and warm personality

*  Good at talking to people from all backgrounds, people with disabilities, liaising with professional care     workers, families, etc

*  Good attention to detail

*  Strong commitment to protecting and upholding people's rights

*  Enjoys a challenge
