To assist the Welfare Benefit Advisors at Age UK to help older people throughout the borough to apply for Blue badges and Taxi cards. To help promote the service through outreach sessions and social media. To provide administrative support by maintaining systems, updating records, providing information and assisting clients with applications.

What skills do I need?

• Assist clients with the completion of Blue badge and Taxi card entitlement forms either in the office or online. • Updating records and maintaining the organisations CRM system. • To assist to maintain a telephone contact service and provide advice to clients on what evidence is required for their Blue badge or Taxi card applications • To assist with social media posts to promote the service. • To attend outreach sessions to promote the service (In the future) • To listen to clients in order to gain a better understanding of the client’s need and personal circumstances.

• A willingness and ability to participate in mandatory training sessions and attend regular update meetings as and when required • Ability to manage caseloads • Experience using a CRM or data input experience • A genuine interest and concern for older people • To keep up to date with changes in blue badge and taxi card updates. • A willingness and ability to work as part of a team • The ability to volunteer a minimum of 6 months.

We are particularly looking for volunteers with the following skills: • Good listening and communication skills • Empathy with older people • Reliability and trustworthiness • Organised and able to keep accurate records • Patience and sensitivity

This opportunity can be carried out whilst working from home.
