Join our friendly and supportive team and provide vital emotional support to clients who either cannot afford private counselling or are unable to access NHS services. This is an opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, gaining valuable experience and counselling hours.

You would be able to provide a minimum of 3 sessions a week to a wide range of adult clients, either in person, online or by phone. We operate from various locations throughout Bexley Borough, including Bexleyheath, Belvedere, Crayford, Erith, Sidcup and Thamesmead.

We offer a comprehensive package of support to volunteer counsellors, including free supervision, travel and parking expenses, a monthly professional development group, free in-house training courses, free Enhanced DBS check, 50% reduction in the cost of renting rooms to see your own private clients.

What skills do I need?

Hold a recognised counselling qualification to a minimum of Level 4 diploma in counselling.

You should have membership of a professional body (eg BACP, NCPS) and work within their ethical framework

Participate in regular supervision, training and professional development group

You would manage your own caseload, which would include a number of more complex clients, and maintain accurate, confidential records of your work in line with GDPR.
