Conservation Volunteers help make green space accessible so that it can be enjoyed by more people.

The work is outdoors and mainly conservation and maintenance of some wonderful wildlife areas. 

Activities include:

  • woodland management. 
  • cutting back trees and hedges.
  • learning to make dead hedges.
  • repairing and painting benches, fences and posts.
  • ecological survey, whether it is a pond survey for insect life or flora and birds.
  • litter picking.
  • planting trees, bulbs and flower plugs and seeds.

What skills do I need?

This role would suit people who:

  • Who have an interest in conservation.
  • Like being outside in all weathers.
  • Want to meet like-minded individuals.
  • Want to improve the local area and have a sense of community.
  •  Enjoy working as part of a team.
