Befriender

We are looking for caring and chatty people who can provide 1:1 befriending for lonely and isolated people from Keighley and surrounding areas. Many people have had limited contact with others and this has severely affected their social and emotional wellbeing but by carrying out weekly visits to a person you will provide much needed companionship and help to lift their spirits.
Full training and support will be provided. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Just one hour a week can make the world of difference to a lonely person. Keighley only.
What skills do I need?
Caring nature, positive disposition, patient, understanding, empathic and ability to maintain boundaries.

Befriending visits are usually conducted during normal working hours 9am - 4:30 pm Mon-Fri.
Each visit usually takes up to 1 hour. You can befriend one or more person depending on your availability.
Must be able to work in Keighey & surrounding areas.
