BEES run a nature conservation volunteer group each Friday (and some Thursdays). We carry out seasonal conservation tasks, such as tree planting, the creation and management of various wildlife habitats including woodland, orchards and nature reserves, pond and meadow management, schools and community gardens, food growing, and some hard landscaping.
New volunteers are very welcome to come as often as they would like.
You will need appropriate clothing, we have a small supply of waterproof clothing and boots if required please ask.
You will need a packed lunch but we provide hot drinks and biscuits.
Location This opportunity is available across a number of sites throughout the Bradford district depending on seasonal works, these are advertised in our seasonal task programme (which might be subject to change depending on the weather)
We meet at our base at Culture Fusion on Thornton Road, Bradford at 10am and take a minibus to site. Volunteers can also use own transport and meet us at the task location.
We can teach you the practical skills needed for various tasks on the day and can adapt tasks for arrange of experience and skill levels from beginners who would like to try their hand at something new to experienced horticulturalists and conservationists who want to put their skills in action or pass these on to others.
