At Centrepoint, we support thousands of young people experiencing homelessness every year. But accessing opportunities—education, training, wellbeing activities—often depends on something simple: getting there. That’s where you come in. As a Volunteer Minibus Driver, you’ll help young people attend activities, appointments, and trips that build their confidence, independence, and future prospects. Whether it’s a college visit, a wellbeing activity, or a day out, your support helps make these opportunities possible.

What you will be doing Safely driving a Centrepoint minibus to transport young people and/or staff to and from activities, appointments, and trips Supporting the planning and coordination of journeys with staff teams Carrying out basic vehicle checks (e.g. fuel levels, cleanliness, visual safety checks) before and after use Ensuring all passengers are following safety guidance, including seatbelt use Maintaining a professional, friendly, and supportive approach when interacting with young people Reporting any issues, incidents, or concerns to the Volunteer Supervisor or staff member on duty

What skills do I need?

A valid clean Full UK driving licence (Category D1) Confidence and experience in driving larger vehicles Good communication and interpersonal skills Reliability and punctuality A calm, patient, and non-judgemental approach
