Next training day is to be arranged at central Bradford location, lunch provided.
We are looking for Volunteer Support Assistant’s who will be specifically chosen for their skills and whose role it will be to work with adults with a variety of additional needs (including mental health issues, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, neuro-diversity, learning disabilities asylum seekers / refugees), to enable them to volunteer in the opportunity of their choice.
Volunteer Support Assistant's will support people with additional needs or asylum seekers to (the level of support provided will be dependent on each individuals needs. this WILL NOT include personal care):
Skills needed for this role:
Positive attitude
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to take part in relevant activities
Ability to follow instruction and work as a member of a team
Ability to reflect on own practice
Willingness to undertake training
Commitment to working in ways that promote and value individual choice
Commitment to working in an enabling way that promotes independence
Commitment to working in ways which promote equal opportunities
Willingness to work within Volunteering Bradford’s policies
Ability to speak another language would be useful but not essential
