A bit about the role: The Community Wellbeing & Support Volunteer supports residents both one-to-one and in group settings. The role combines individual support all delivered through a co-produced approach while building clients confidence, independence and community connection

What will I be doing?

Volunteer activities will vary depending on the location and specific project needs. You may be involved in some of the following:

• Accompanying residents to appointments (such as GP or hospital) Co-facilitate Meet & Eat sessions where both you and residents plan, share recipes and prepare meals.

• Lead or support wellbeing sessions such as mindfulness, arts and crafts,

• Help maintaining a tidy living space.

• Plant & Garden maintenance

Volunteers will be matched to activities that suit the location, project focus, and their interests, ensuring a positive and manageable experience for everyone.

Before you start your volunteering, you will be invited to an induction.  During this induction we will share with you our Volunteering Handbook.

The induction will cover Professional Boundaries, Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity and be a chance for you to find out more about Turning Tides and ask any questions.

  • Volunteering Policy

  • Health & Safety Policy

  • Fire Safety Policy
  • Risk assessment.

Practical Considerations

 Times & Commitment: Flexible, mornings and afternoons throughout the week. Hours and times can be flexible. 2 to 3 hours per weekly/ fortnight. Monthly opportunities available too. 

What skills do I need?

Who would suit this role? This role suits volunteers who are empathetic, inclusive and reliable. An interest in wellbeing, community support or group activities is helpful but not essential. No formal qualifications are required but an understanding of our clients group would be beneficial
