We are looking for Baristas and Front of House volunteers to join our bustling Café team here at Sussex Emmaus on Saturdays (anytime between 10am – 4pm) in Portslade Old Village.

The role is very interactive and social, working alongside staff, other volunteers, companions and customers.

Not Professionally trained to use a coffee machine? Please apply anyway - as we can provide full training courses, so you’ll gain valuable skills.  

Front of house involves greeting customers, taking orders, using the till and general duties.

Practical Considerations

• Volunteer will be on their feet for most of a shift

• There is free street parking

• Bus no 1 and 1X stop close by to the Community

• The closest train station is Portslade.

What skills do I need?

• This is a very customer focused role, so a friendly, can do attitude
• If you are not already Barista trained - all training will be provided
• Comfortable working in a busy and sometimes fast paced environment
• The Volunteer needs the physical ability to stand and serve customers
• An interest in meeting new people from all walks of life.
