This structured voluntary role will support Rockinghorse’s Wellbeing Service, which exists to help children and families with their mental health and wellbeing during hospital treatment. This innovative service organises activities and workshops for patients of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton and finds creative ways to support the wellbeing of parents, carers & staff. Volunteer roles with Rockinghorse are unpaid, though reasonable expenses will be reimbursed upon request.
How you’ll make an impact:
By supporting the administration and coordination of thoughtful activities, creative wellbeing sessions and staff care initiatives, you’ll help us in our mission to improve the hospital experience for children, families and healthcare professionals - bringing comfort, care and connection when it matters most.

* If the role ends up requiring more hospital presence than we anticipate at this stage, Administrators may be asked to undergo a more comprehensive onboarding process, as mandated by the NHS Trust (online training, enhanced DBS check, referencing and Occupational Health assessment).

Where and when?
We are seeking volunteers who can commit to a regular routine of at least one day per week to support the coordination of the Wellbeing Service's activities and events. The role is based at the Rockinghorse office in central Brighton, acting as a key link between the office, hospital and community services. Working hours are flexible and will be arranged around volunteer availability and service needs.
