We are looking for skilled and compassionate musicians to help bring music to our hospice wards. Volunteers play a vital role in creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere, where music can soothe, uplift and offer comfort to patients and their loved ones during challenging times.

Why we want you

This volunteer role offers a meaningful and enriching experience for both patients and visitors. Volunteers are invited to play our electric piano or another agreed-upon instrument, contributing to a soothing and comforting environment. Musicians are asked to select and perform a playlist that promotes peace, relaxation, and emotional support within our hospice wards.

What you will be doing

You'll be playing music for 45 minutes to an hour on a regular basis, this could be weekly or monthly, bringing comfort and calm to patients and their loved ones in our hospice wards.

What's in it for you

  • The deep satisfaction of supporting St Catherine’s Hospice in its mission to care for local people and their families during difficult times.
  • Opportunities to develop new skills and gain meaningful experiences
  • Full training and support throughout your role
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses

What skills do I need?

  • A high level of musical competency
  • An understanding of the hospice environment, with the ability to tailor your playlist to suit the needs and sensitivities of patients and visitors
  • A collaborative spirit and enjoyment of being part of a team
