Spend time in the beautiful Avenue Park, Cranford and help make the park a better place for people and wildlife. This is a free monthly volunteer activity as part of a project with London Borough of Hounslow called Your Avenue Park. You will help make a better place for people and improve biodiversity in the park and along the river corridor. You can learn new skills, meet new people, improve your health and wellbeing and contribute to a community based project at the same time.

Everyone is welcome but by taking part in the sessions, you can also boost your CV or study applications by working towards AQA unit awards (attendance at 12 sessions), receive a certificate of participation (attendance at 8 sessions) and a project t-shirt (attendance at 3 sessions).

Sessions are on the third Tuesday of the month from 10am-1pm. Contact us to find out more and when the next one will be!

What skills do I need?

You can learn a variety of skills including: creating new habitats, coppicing trees, monitoring and removing invasive species, citizen science techniques, creating dead hedges, monitoring wildlife, safe use of hand tools, and planting and managing a community orchard and tree nursery as well as project management skills such as working as part of the team, understanding risk and problem solving.
