We are seeking friendly, compassionate, and reliable volunteers to join our team and support individuals with dementia and their carers in our Carers Short Breaks Service. With an increase in referrals, we are looking for volunteers to offer a befriending service to individuals who may benefit from a chat or a walk. This role is vital in providing companionship and a short respite for carers, while making a positive impact on the lives of those living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer friendly conversation and a listening ear through regular visits or phone calls
  • Build and maintain a respectful, trusting relationship
  • Encourage social confidence and community engagement
  • Report any concerns or relevant information to the project lead
  • Attend initial training and ongoing support sessions
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding procedures

Minimum 6-month commitment preferred*

Volunteering recruitments process is during the weekdays*
