As a school governor, you will work with school leaders to set the strategic direction, monitor performance, and ensure accountability. You don’t need prior experience in education—just a willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute your skills and perspective.

Governors bring a range of experience from different backgrounds, including finance, HR, leadership, and community engagement. Your voice can help improve outcomes for pupils and make a real impact.

This rewarding volunteer role typically involves attending meetings and visiting the school around 6–8 times per year, with training and support provided.
