Climate Ambassadors support education settings to create and/or implement a climate action plan.
Climate Ambassadors can be paired with a school and meet with the school’s sustainability lead several times over a few months. Through a six-step process, the Climate Ambassador can help the school’s Sustainability Lead to identify potential leverage points, strategies for creating a whole school buy-in, and specific actions that can be taken within the education setting.
Climate Ambassadors can also arrange one-off visits to schools and run sessions/ present on relevant sustainability topics that interest them.
Basic project management skills, as well as the ability to facilitate conversation with school staff are an asset for this role. Free training is provided to all volunteers to ensure you will be equipped to visit schools.
No specific expertise or experience in climate change/ sustainability is needed for this role, although this is of course welcome.
This opportunity can be carried out whilst working from home.
