Ealing and Hounslow Community Voluntary Service are recruiting 10 volunteers to support the Smoke-Free Ealing project by raising awareness about the harms of smoking and the harms of vaping in under 18s and encouraging residents to access the Ealing Smokefree Service. Volunteers will engage with local communities and help create welcoming, informative conversations at the community venues across the borough.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend a 1-hour training session before starting the role (1st week of July)
• Support 2 to 6 community engagement events at venues across Ealing (between end of July 2026 and November 2026)
  • Speak with residents about the benefits of stopping smoking and the support available
  • Raise awareness about the risks of illegal tobacco and unsafe vaping products
  • Inform residents how to report illegal tobacco sales and underage or unsafe vaping products to Trading Standards
• Share campaign materials and signpost people to the Ealing Smokefree Service
• Represent the project in a friendly, respectful, and culturally sensitive way

What skills do I need?

• Confident speaking to members of the public
• Interested in improving community health and wellbeing
• Reliable and able to commit to training and scheduled events
• Good communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities
• Ability to communicate in local community languages widely spoken in Ealing (in addition to English) is highly desirable
