We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our next Cancer Research UK Shine Night Walk event in London, on the 20th September 2025.
As a Course Route Marshal – You will be located at a strategic point along the course, ready to cheer and motivate the walkers as they make their way across London. You will be supported by a Zone Manager and be paired up with another volunteer. You can also bring a friend to buddy up with! Whether you’re a first-time volunteer or a seasoned veteran, we’d love for you to join us!
What skills do I need?
We’re looking for people who are: Engaging, friendly and keen to make sure everyone has a brilliant day. Willing to get stuck in and help. Good communicators. Flexible and can use their own initiative. Team players – you’ll be joining a lovely bunch of other volunteers!

Starting and finishing at Battersea Park, Battersea Park Road, London, SW11 4NJ.
The course runs through Vauxhall, Victoria, St James Park, Westminster Bridge, Tower Bridge, St Pauls Cathedral, St Pancras, Marble arch, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham palace, Kensington. 4-6 hours Time commitment is ideal but we welcome any time commitments the individual deems appropriate for their personal psychical and mental health.
