We are looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join our school community and support our children in a variety of ways.
Volunteering at Ivybridge Primary School can be a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to children's learning, confidence and enjoyment of school.
You could support us by:
- Supporting reading: Work 1:1 or with small groups of children to develop their reading skills. This could include listening to children read, helping them sound out unfamiliar words, developing their vocabulary and asking questions to check and develop their understanding of the text.
- Supporting small-group activities: Help children develop their knowledge and skills through educational games, activities and practical learning.
- Supporting learning in the classroom: Work alongside teachers and support staff to help children revisit previous learning, practise key skills or complete activities.
- Creative activities: Help children take part in art, craft and other creative activities that encourage imagination, confidence and self-expression.
- Enrichment opportunities: Support a range of activities and experiences that extend children's learning beyond the classroom.
- School trips and visits: Where appropriate, volunteers may have the opportunity to accompany staff and children on educational visits and school trips.
- School events and fundraising: Help us with fundraising activities and events that bring our school community together.
- Administration: Support the school team with appropriate administrative tasks and help with the smooth running of the school.
There may also be opportunities to share your own skills, interests, hobbies or experiences with our children. We are always keen to explore new ways in which volunteers can contribute to school life.
