Volunteer Nature Buddy

We are seeking volunteer “Nature Buddies” to support a project which will is working with adults with learning disability to take them on regular themed walks in parks and open spaces in Hounslow. Nature buddies will support project participants and walk leaders in the delivery of projects: 

· Provide regular support to groups during walks and activities in their local parks and open spaces. 

· Encourage and recruit people to the project who would not normally engage with outdoor environments. 

· Deliver key messages and promote the benefit of health and well-being, outdoor learning and environmental stewardship within the community. 

· Volunteers will be one of a network of Nature Buddies.

What skills do I need?

No special qualifications/experience needed. Volunteers should be understanding, patient, empathetic and good at listening. You should be enthusiastic about the benefits of spending time outside. All volunteers are subject to Disclosure and Barring checks.

This is a fantastic learning and development opportunity. At the same time you will be helping adults with learning disability to engage with outdoor spaces and make new friends.
