Open Sight offer a range of services for those with, or at risk of sight loss.  These range from home visits, benefits advice to family support services and social clubs.

We are looking for volunteer Social Club Drivers to transport visually impaired Members from their homes to the Club venue and return.

• Venue, routes, dates, times and specific pick-up points are pre-arranged and agreed with Club Organisers and individuals.
• There may be occasions when transportation of an accompanying Guide Dog is necessary.
• Your motor insurers should be informed of role.
• Attendance of ‘Safe Sighted Guiding’ training.
• Completion of Open Sight application process and DBS disclosure.
• Submission of claims for mileage expenses, as directed.
  

What skills do I need?

Drivers need to be good at transporting older people.  Regular contact with you to offer on-going support, including training where appropriate, to enrich and develop your volunteering experience with us.
