We are a community toy library run by volunteers. We are a local, non-profit initiative where families can borrow toys, games, and learning materials for their children, much like a traditional book library. Operated by dedicated volunteers, the library aims to promote sharing, reduce waste, and support child development through play. It's a welcoming, inclusive space that fosters community connection and makes quality toys accessible to all families. The toys we have mainly cater for 0-5 year olds and we have a few books for older children too. All children are under the care of their parents. We are open twice a month: 1st Tuesday of the month 10:30-12:00 and 3rd Saturday of the month 14:30-16:00.
We are looking for volunteers to help run our sessions. We have at least 2 volunteers per session. Volunteers are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the session starts to set up and stay for 15 minutes after to tidy up after the session. Therefore, volunteer opportunities are 1st Tuesday of the month 10:15-12:15 and 3rd Saturday of the month 14:15-16:15.
Volunteer duties involve setting up sessions (putting out tables, chairs and a few toys), welcoming families into our space, signing up new toy library members, recording items borrowed and returned in a logbook, cleaning returned items, packing away at the end of a session.

Volunteers usually help at one session every 3 months or so. We usually have 'Tuesday' volunteers or 'Saturday' volunteers but this can be flexible. We have a volunteer rota a few months ahead of time but there is informal swapping of shifts between volunteers. Sessions are the 1st Tuesday of the month 10:15-12:15 and 3rd Saturday of the month 14:15-16:15
