We\'re looking for a Befriending Support Volunteer for 2 - 4 hours a week (flexible) at our Potter Street location.
Our free befriending service helps reduce loneliness and isolation by creating meaningful connections that support emotional wellbeing. As a Befriending Support Volunteer, you will play an important role in helping people access the right support at the right time.

What skills do I need?
Empathy - show an ability to understand and share the feelings of others.
Active listening - listen attentively and engage in meaningful conversation.
Patience and understanding – confidence in supporting individuals who may have complex needs or be experiencing difficult circumstances
A non-judgmental approach - respect the dignity and autonomy of the individual without imposing personal views.
Sensitivity to cultural and emotional needs - be mindful of differences in background, beliefs, and experiences.
Organisational skills - the ability to keep clear records and work independently with support
