We are a charity who maintain and hire a fleet of 4 boats on the Rivers Stort and Lea. Mainly wide-beamed, the boats are designed for people with disabilities. The volunteer will interact with our hirers, helping them learn the ropes, working the locks, using the galley, etc. In short, the volunteer will make sure they get the most from their trip.

Times vary to suit. In summer crew are required most days and there is therefore frequent opportunities to be involved. This position involves the crew providing their services to enable user groups to hire the boats.

What skills do I need?

Full training will be given, so no previous experience is required , although some experience would be an advantage. There is an opportunity for the right person to be trained, as a first mate and a skipper.
