The volunteer will visit the home of a person with a disability, sometimes with a health worker such as an occupational therapist or physiotherapist, understand the help that is required, make sketches and measurements, take photos if necessary, and go back to the volunteer’s home to design and make or adapt the equipment required.  The volunteer then goes back to the disabled person that needs help to ensure what they have made meets their need, or modify as necessary to meet what is required.

What skills do I need?

Practical skills to invent and make things, an engineering background would help but not essential.  The volunteer would need to be mobile and have facilities at home to design and make things.

Location

This opportunity is available Countywide.
