The role of Gallery Assistant covers a variety of duties including, greeting visitors, basic admin duties, marketing and taking sales.
The role of Gallery Assistant covers a variety of duties. Whilst we wouldn’t expect one volunteer to take
on the whole role, opportunities are available for those with skills and experience in the following areas:
· Hospitality – Meeting and greeting visitors, ensuring a warm welcome
· Basic administration – keeping the Gallery clean and tidy, leaflet printing etc.
· Communications & Marketing – Maintaining a mailing database, updating social media etc.
· Sales – Processing Gallery sales and recording details

What skills do I need?
· Interpersonal skills – talking/greeting visitors
· Interest in art (desirable) - by far not a requirement for the role, in fact if you’re new to art/cultural
venues and are interested in learning more about gallery curation and management, this would be
the perfect role for you!
