Volunteer Handyperson

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing person with good communication skills to join our volunteer team.
You will be helping to identify and undertake basic repair work and general DIY activities at our centre in Chelmsford, for example, fixing door handles, touching up paintwork, putting up shelves etc.
This is a flexible role and doesn’t require a large time commitment, but the amount of work can vary depending on what jobs may arise. Hours are flexible but some jobs may be more time critical than others and some will need to be undertaken outside of our lunch service hours when the centre is not in use.
Age Concern Chelmsford exists to support older people within the local community, connecting them to each other over some healthy, nutritious food and through other social events. By sharing your skills and time you will help us operate effectively ensuring the ongoing success of the charity.
What skills do I need?
Excellent DIY skills, ability to identify repairs and upgrades that may become an issue, ability to prioritise tasks effectively, clean and tidy workmanship.
