Community Spirit are a group of adults who enjoy volunteering in the Gosport community. They volunteer at local events, litter picks, help out other charities, clearing gardens etc. plus much more. They have a drop-in twice a week here at Snape House, where they come and chat over a cuppa and have quizzes. They are supported because they have mental health and/or learning barriers, for example autism. Support Volunteers help by supporting the coordinator, by making members feel welcome, getting to know them, chatting, being an extra pair of hands, eye's and ear's. They also support when we are out an about volunteering in the community, re-assuring members and making sure things go smoothly.

If you are willing to take responsibility, to support this enthusiastic group, we would be delighted to meet you.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for someone who has some practical skills, you don't have to be an expert but willing to have a go and support others to do the same. Someone who gets on well with people, who has the ability to listen and to give feedback and who has patience. You need to be confident when meeting new people and want to help people be the best they can in any situation.
