Accessing the Community: Befriender

Do you live in the Centre or Winchester or within a 3 mile radius?
Would you be willing to give an hour or so of your time each week to accompany an elderly person who is living in isolation to access their local community? It might be accompanying them to a local club, a coffee meet, or simply a walk in the park?

We believe that everybody should lead their life with enjoyment, friendship, fulfilment and choice. Sometimes in later life these things can become a little more difficult to achieve. Our Hand in Hand service is designed to help. Our objective is to make a real difference by improving the wellbeing of local residents and providing older people with new social opportunities via signposting, and the friendship and support of volunteers to help them access the community enabling them to live life to the full for as long as possible.
