Petersfield’s Eco Café, supported by PeCAN, runs every Tuesday morning from 11am–12pm at Winton House. On the first Tuesday of each month it runs until 12.30pm and has a special focus on home energy.

We also run an evening session, PeCAN at the Pub / Volunteers Evening, on the last Wednesday of each month from 7pm at The Folly. We’re looking for volunteers to help host these friendly, informal get‑togethers.

What's Involved?

• Welcoming newcomers and regular attendees so everyone feels included

• Helping to make teas and coffees (simple refreshments, nothing café‑style)

• Chatting with people about local environmental issues and what we can do collectively

• Sharing PeCAN news, projects and opportunities for people to get involved

• Light set‑up and pack‑down of the meeting room

This is a relaxed, community‑focused role — you don’t need to be an expert, just friendly, reliable and happy to chat.

Time Commitment

• Around 2 hours, including set‑up

• A regular commitment, such as hosting once a month, would be ideal

• You’re welcome to volunteer for either the Tuesday morning Eco Café, the Wednesday evening session, or both

Important Note

Although it’s called the “Eco Café”, it isn’t a café venue, it’s a meeting room at the back of Winton House that we hire for the sessions.

What skills do I need?

• Friendly
• Approachable personality
• Happy to chat
• Reliable
