Are you passionate about children's education? If you are enthusiastic and motivated to improve school standards, care deeply about the community we live in and have a broad skillset that could support our diverse governing board - we'd love to hear from you.
The main tasks of the governing body are:
- Ensure that the school has a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Oversee the financial performance of the school, and making sure the school's money is well spent
What skills do I need?
We are seeking individuals to cover a range of experience and expertise and we would also love to hear from people who have previous experience on a governing board. You do not need to be a parent to be a governor. We are a diverse governing board with a broad skillset and supported in our role by regular training courses. Hampshire Governor Services offer full training to assist you in your role as a governor.

Commitment: The following meetings are held at school throughout the year, normally at 7pm until 9pm: 6 x Full Governing Body meetings, 3 to 4 subcommittee meetings, 1 or 2 Whole Governing Body training sessions, helping out with parents evenings (twice per year), official governor visits to school (1-2 per year, during school hours).
