Neurodivergent Arts CIC is a neurodivergent-led creative health organisation in its first year. We would love to hear from you if you’d like to be part of a small Stakeholder Board helping us lay strong, sustainable foundations.

We aim for at least 75% of our Stakeholder Board to be neurodivergent or have close lived experience of neurodivergence (for example, as a parent/carer or family member). If you are an ally with these skills and are passionate about inclusion, we’d love to hear from you too.

This voluntary Safeguarding & Policy role will suit someone who cares deeply about people being safe, heard and taken seriously. You’ll help us keep safeguarding live in day-to-day practice as we grow.

You will:

  • Keep our safeguarding policy and reporting flow clear, practical and understood by everyone
  • Maintain a secure log of concerns/incidents and help track actions and outcomes
  • Review and develop simple risk-assessment templates for sessions, venues and events
  • Support annual refreshers and keep an overview of training and DBS renewal dates

We’re looking for around 8+ years’ experience in safeguarding-related work (for example as a DSL, safeguarding lead or senior contact in education, youth, community, health or arts settings), or equivalent experience.

Time: 7–14 hours per month, including around 4 short meetings a year. This is an advisory/stewardship role (not a legal director position), with flexible, access-aware ways to contribute.

What skills do I need?

  • Experience as a Safeguarding Lead / DSL / senior safeguarding contact in education, youth, community, health or arts settings
  • Strong understanding of UK safeguarding frameworks, thresholds, information-sharing and escalation routes
  • Ability to write clear, factual incident/concern notes and support others to do the same
  • Experience creating or using risk assessments for groups, venues and events
  • Trauma-informed, neuro-affirming approach to safeguarding and behaviour
  • Comfortable leading or supporting safeguarding briefings and refreshers
  • Able to work with Governance and Wellbeing roles to turn incidents into learning and improved practice

Location

This opportunity can be carried out whilst working from home.
