Every Scout group requires trustees, which form the Trustee Board. This board oversees the administration of the group. As well as a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, each Executive welcomes people with specific skills, and we are always looking for new members.
Main Tasks:
- Foster a common culture, values and ethos across the group.
- Create and maintain an inclusive organisation where volunteers can work, learn and reach their full potential.
- Review and recommend current and future strategic resourcing, training and development plans
- Actively contribute to policy setting, strategic direction, goal and target setting, and evaluate performance against targets, budgets, plans and objectives.
What skills do I need?
A Trustee is expected to have:
- A commitment to the Group’s aims and objectives
- An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities
- An ability to think strategically
- Good independent judgement and an open-minded approach to new ideas
- An ability to think creatively
- A willingness to speak their mind
- A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort An ability to work as part of a team

The trustee board meets around 4 times a year and holds several events throughout the year - Group BBQ/ Hike / AGM.
