Our local scout group is looking for a skilled volunteer to help us power up two of our shipping containers! We need someone with experience in off-grid solar setups to install a solar panel, a leisure battery, and lighting in each container. This will provide our scouts with safe, illuminated spaces for their equipment storage
What we need help with:
If you have expertise in auto-electrics, solar installations, or general electrical work and can spare some time to help our scouts, we would love to hear from you!
To successfully complete this project, a volunteer should ideally have a mix of electrical and practical DIY skills. Key areas of expertise include experience with 12V DC electrical systems, which is essential for safely wiring the leisure battery and lights, as well as knowledge of off-grid solar setups to properly connect the solar panels and charge controller. They will also need general DIY and mechanical skills for securely mounting the panels to the shipping containers and running the necessary wiring.
