Volunteer receptionists play crucial role in creating welcoming environment for visitors, patients and staff. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting visitors: Being the first point of contact, ensure visitors feel comfortable and supported.
  • Providing information: Assist with basic queries, directing visitors to the right place, and offering information about groups, services, and upcoming activities.
  • Administrative tasks: Handle simple admin tasks such as taking messages, photocopying, and sorting leaflets.
  • Maintaining organisation: Keeping the reception area tidy and organised, ensuring it remains a welcoming space.
  • Supporting individuals: Offer light support to individuals in distress, knowing when to get help from staff.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines: Adhere to health and safety guidance to ensure a safe environment for visitors, patients and staff.
  • Participating in training: Take part in training where needed to feel confident in your role.
