We are looking for friendly, down-to-earth all-rounders to join our volunteer team.

This isn't a role where you'll be sitting around! Our Hub can be busy, physical and sometimes a little chaotic, so we're looking for people who are happy to muck in wherever they're needed. You could be serving someone in the charity shop one minute, restocking rails the next, helping a family who has come in for support, and then helping us unload a delivery.

Typical tasks include: 

• Serving customers and taking payments using our computerised till
• Restocking and organising the charity shop  Keeping the shop and Community Hub clean and tidy
• Sorting donations and stock  Helping to load and unload deliveries – some of these can be heavy and physically demanding
• Welcoming and chatting with clients using our services
• Helping with our Community Pantry and other Hub activities when needed
• Supporting our seasonal projects and events throughout the year

Generally getting stuck in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed! This matters to us because we want the people using S.M.I.L.E to feel comfortable, understood and never judged. 

What skills do I need?

Who we're looking for We particularly welcome people who have lived experience of family poverty, financial hardship or accessing community support, or who have previously worked or volunteered in a similar environment. 

A good level of fitness is required for this role
