This volunteering opportunity  is to assist in the operation of the Ripple Centre as an efficient and professional Receptionist during opening hours.

You will provide support with bookings, liaise with clients and assist in managing the calendar for the hall and the meeting rooms at the centre.

The volunteer's general duties may include:

• Keeping track of all car park usage and access and issuing temporary parking permits when necessary.
• Assisting in maintaining the reception area, keeping it neat and tidy and familiarising yourself with details of events taking place in the centre. 
• Answer telephone calls and redirect as necessary, taking caller's name and details to pass on.
• Dealing with enquiries either via the telephone or face to face from the public and other organisations in a helpful, polite and professional manner.
• Ensure visitors to the Centre sign in and out and making sure safety procedures are followed
• Assis in sorting/franking incoming and outgoing post and deliveries

What skills do I need?

• Excellent timekeeping
• Clear and confident communication skills
• Confident when using office equipment
• Able to stay calm under pressure and good problem solving skills
• Polite and friendly, with a good telephone manner
• Previous experience in a customer focused environment would be an advantage.
