Who Are We?

Mary How Trust is a registered charity based in Pulborough, West Sussex. We offer health screening to asymptomatic clients to help the early detection of Cancer and other life threatening diseases. We suggest a donation of £350 to complete but as we believe everyone has the right to a screening we offer this service on a pay what you can afford basis. Our screenings save lives through early detection.

The Role

We are looking for Events Volunteers to help with the following: 

• Provide general support and cover in the administration, organisation and delivery of fundraising and events.
• Assist in the planning of events and fundraising strategies
• Deliver successful events, assisting with setting up, running and organising.
• Receive and deal with a proportion of Marketing & Fundraising emails and telephone calls as appropriate
• Help in securing donations and sponsorship of events
• Assist with databases, including updating clients’ information, inputting donations letters and mailings.
• General research on relevant fundraising items.
• Contribute ideas to generate fundraising and donations.
• Assist in contacting businesses by phone, in person or by letter for sponsorship/raffle donations.
• Liaise with suppliers for merchandise and marketing materials.
• Help to co-ordinate events volunteers including obtaining references for some new recruits.
• Help represent the Trust at events and/or talks.
• Circulation of press releases and/or event listings.
• Ad hoc tasks.
• Ensure that all the above comply with the Data Protection Act at all times to help protect client, donor/sponsor and employee confidentiality.
