Are you a Team Player looking to learn new skills and want to help your community? Feel ready for a new challenge and to learn new skills. Isle of Wight Search & Rescue (WightSAR) are seeking new recruits to join the team to train as Licensed Search Technicians. WightSAR are members of Lowland Rescue and provide skilled volunteers to assist Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary in searches for high risk missing persons across the IOW. The team are on call 24/7 , 365 days a year. All applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check & interview. There is a £75 training course fee and a one off membership fee of £20. Initial Training will be given prior to a weekend assessment course. See website for details The team train twice a month on a Thursday evening. What skills do I need?

Full training will be given starting in January 2027. Must be able to walk 5 miles in 2 hours

We need volunteers to maintain our 24/7 cover.

We particularly need volunteers who could be available during the daytime as well as out of hours.

Training starts late January 2027. Details to be confirmed. The assessment weekend is in April 2027.
