The Whippingham Community Association has managed the village hall in Whippingham for over thirty years for the benefit of the community. The hall already hosts a range of activities such as fitness classes, craft and music groups and support meetings run by the individuals who organise these groups. Volunteers would be able to decide what hours each week they could provide and where necessary work with other members of the team. We do ask volunteers to be flexible and usually the whole team gets involved when running a community or fund-raising event. We are looking for volunteers able to work in one or more of the skills areas mentioned below, or even if you do not have these skills but are willing to get involved in other ways we would be happy to hear from you

What skills do I need?

Anyone with new ideas or an interest in helping to organise community and fund-raising events. A computer literature person able to take us forward on the technical side by setting up social media platforms, on-line calendars on various devices, update website from the instructions and come up with new ideas to move us forwards and improve systems. Someone with administrative skills to take notes of meetings and update monthly figures. Simple catering skills prepared to help with events such as “Warm Space” events and providing refreshments at events. We would fund them so they could complete the Food Hygiene Certificate. Gardening/handyman skills to assist the Caretaker with general maintenance, keeping garden tidy, pruning etc. We can offer all volunteers Free use of the hall up to twice a year for a family party/celebration. Subject to availability and usual terms and conditions. Funding for Food Hygiene Certificate for anyone assisting with catering.
