Help plant fruit, vegetables, and herbs that may later be used by the people we support.
Take part in general allotment maintenance, including:
*Planting
*Weeding
*Watering
Support with building or repairing simple garden furniture (optional, based on your interest).
Join in with summer activities such as BBQs or outdoor community events.
What we’re looking for:
An interest in gardening, food growing, or spending time outdoors.
Willingness to work as part of a team and get involved in practical tasks.
Enthusiasm for helping create a welcoming, community‑focused green space.
General knowledge or interest in gardening
Enjoys practical outdoor tasks such as planting seeds, preparing soil, laying flower beds, and caring for plants.
Able to carry out basic garden maintenance, including watering, pruning, and supporting seasonal planting.
Keen to learn new gardening skills and follow guidance from the team.
Basic DIY skills
Comfortable using simple hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, or garden tools.
Able to support light tasks like assembling or repairing small garden furniture or raised beds.
Willing to learn and follow instructions safely.
Teamwork and communication
Happy to volunteer alongside others in a friendly, community‑focused environment.
Able to listen to instructions, share tasks, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Open to supporting group activities and helping others when needed.
Awareness of health and safety
Understands the importance of working safely with tools and equipment.
Willing to follow site guidelines, use protective equipment when required, and report any hazards.
Respects safe working practices to ensure everyone enjoys the allotment safely.
