Each person who'd like to volunteer needs to sign up individually, and volunteers are not permitted to bring friends, family members, or children along with them on shifts.

If you plan to apply for this role, please note you will need your HCPC registration number and PLI certificate to hand.

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

• Physiotherapy volunteers offer advice, assessment and treatment to help alleviate our guests’ physical pain and mobility problems. This can mark an important step in improving their health and wellbeing.
• You will be volunteering at our Health & Wellbeing Day(s). These events are an opportunity for members to access a range of health & wellbeing services from the safety and comfort of our Skylight. All treatments are clothed. 
• You will be part of a specialist volunteer team which may include: Hairdressers, Masseuses, Optical Care and GPs. 
• Our training will show you what to expect when running sessions and the type of sessions that work best for our guests.  

Core tasks

Your tasks may include: 

• The Physiotherapy service team can also refer guests across to Crisis healthcare colleagues if necessary.   
• There will be a briefing before each shift and the opportunity to debrief afterwards and report back any issues or feedback to the Service Organiser.

What skills do I need?

• Qualified Physiotherapists   
• All qualified physiotherapy volunteers must be HCPC registered and members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
• If you plan to apply for this role, please note it requires an Enhanced DBS Check with Adults' Barred List - and digital ID check as part of this. If you already have this type of issued by Crisis in the last three years will we hold the details of this. If you have an Enhanced DBS Check with Adults' Barred List registered with the Update Service, please share your Update Service ID with us in your application.
