Fundraising groups are the beating heart of our community fundraising, bringing together friends, neighbours, colleagues (and anyone partial to cake sales) to raise vital funds and awareness for Daft as a Brush.

Whether you’re joining an established group or starting a new one, you’ll help plan and deliver fun, creative fundraising activities, all while flying the DAAB flag in your local area.

You’ll be part of a team that makes a real difference and yes, you get to wear the charity’s badge with pride (and possibly a silly hat at events).

What you’ll do

  • Group activities • Join or help set up a fundraising group in your area, working with other volunteers and DAAB staff.
  • Plan, organise, and deliver fundraising events, anything from coffee mornings to quiz nights, sponsored walks, or bake-offs.
  • Maximise income from your group’s activities, always keeping things legal, safe, and fun.
  • Publicise events locally and online (flyers, posters, social media—bonus points for creative hashtags).
  • Keep up to date with DAAB news and fundraising campaigns; share ideas and feedback with the team. Compliance & best practice
  • Follow the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and DAAB’s policies, making sure all fundraising is open, honest, legal, and respectful
  • Handle donations securely: count and bank money promptly, keep records, and report totals to DAAB staff.
  • Ensure health & safety at events (risk assessments, food hygiene, accessibility).
  • Use “in aid of” or “on behalf of” DAAB wording as appropriate and never fundraise without DAAB’s knowledge or approval. Teamwork & communication
  • Maintain regular contact with your group and DAAB’s Fundraising Manager.
  • Represent DAAB positively in your community—be a friendly ambassador, not a pushy salesperson.
  • Support and encourage fellow volunteers; share skills, ideas, and a sense of humour.

Time commitment to suit the volunteer
