Volunteering with Altitude Foundation is a meaningful way to support some of the most disadvantaged young people in the North East of England. By sharing your time, you help students gain life changing new experiences within the digital and tech sectors, including teaching them the practical and professional skills needed to succeed. It is also a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your own skills and give back to the local community.

Our school modules enable students (aged 11 - 16) to level up their skills. We attend schools to deliver the launch session of our 6-week modules, as well as planning and delivering a module related trip at the end of the module. Other opportunities include taster sessions, assemblies, and careers fairs to inspire young people about their futures.

Your Role: You will work alongside Altitude Foundation staff to help young people engage with the content and explore career pathways.

Commitment: Module delivery involves attending the first session and a final trip (usually one module available per term). Ad-hoc events like careers fairs are one-off commitments.

Flexibility: You are able to choose which sessions or events best fit your schedule throughout the academic year (September to July).

Location: Schools are located across the North East.

What skills do I need?

  • No teaching experience is required - we provide you with the necessary briefing and resources.
  • Interest in digital and tech
  • Interest in developing the skills and experience of young people
