The Ghanaian Children’s Trust (GCT), based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is run by a dedicated team of six trustees (three women and three men) who share a passion for supporting the children of King Jesus Charity Home in Kumasi, Ghana.

In September 2026, our Treasurer will be retiring, followed by another trustee in December 2027. To ensure a smooth transition, we are now looking to welcome new trustees to join our team.

As a trustee, you’ll play an active role in shaping the direction of our small but impactful charity. Our board meets 3–4 times a year, either in person, via Zoom, or in a hybrid format, to oversee:

· Governance and finance

· Fundraising initiatives

· Charity projects and support

Because GCT is small, our trustees often get directly involved in fundraising events and work closely with a growing team of volunteers. We are especially keen to strengthen our social media presence and build stronger partnerships with businesses and individual supporters.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

· Experience in finance, fundraising, or charity governance

· Skills in communications, marketing, or social media

· A passion for making a tangible difference in children’s lives

If this sounds like you — or if you’d just like to learn more — please get in touch by contacting Jean at: [email protected]

What skills do I need?

  • Ability to commit to attending board meetings and volunteering according to the polices and rules
  • Diligent
  • Reliable
  • Excellent communication - written and verbal
  • Experience in one of our current needs - branding, partnerships, governance and finace
