The Elders Council of Newcastle is looking for new Trustees to help guide us through our silver anniversary year and beyond. Soon, we will be celebrating 25 years of making a difference, and we need people like you to help us continue our important work.

What We’re Looking For:

· People who are 50+ and living or working in Newcastle

· No special qualifications needed – just a passion for helping others.

· If you’ve got ideas, skills, or experience in any area (governance, fundraising, community work, digital skills, communications etc.), we want to hear from you.

· A commitment to making our city more inclusive and age friendly.

What skills do I need?

We are seeking people who are passionate about improving the quality of life of older people in the city and addressing inequalities.

• All Trustees must be 50+ and become members of the organisation
• Previous experience of being a trustee of a voluntary organisation is not essential as training and support will be given
• We are particularly looking for people with experience in community development, fundraising, project management and communications and / or with knowledge of key topics which are current priorities for the Elders Council e.g. housing; transport; personal care.
