If your answer is 'yes' to the above, then we would love to hear from you!
Happy at Home Volunteer Befrienders provide a lifeline for elderly people who are feeling socially isolated and vulnerable in the community.
They provide a listening ear and a friend to chat to, and as a volunteer may be the persons only contact with the outside world.
Usually our volunteer befrienders visit an older person in their own home once a week. Some of our befrienders support an elderly person by helping them to get out for a short walk or a trip to the shops or a coffee in a café.
All our volunteer befrienders receive training, are DBS checked (criminal record check) and are supported by our project co-ordinator.
We also arrange social events for our wonderful volunteers to say 'thank you' and for the opportunity for them to meet people and make new friends too!
If you have an hour a week and enjoy chatting with older people, please get in touch for an informal chat and more information.
