Daventry Library are pleased to offer an exciting volunteer opportunity for a Rhyme Time Leader. Rhyme Time is a fun, friendly and informal song session for families that lasts around half an hour and helps children to build social skills, speech and language skills and fine motor skills. Our team are looking for someone to lead these weekly sessions. Full training and support will be given. What tasks may be involved? • Setting out the furniture and equipment before the event. • Greeting attendees. • Leading the session, by introducing and singing the songs, doing the actions, and modelling how parents can interact with their children. • Clearing away at the end of the session.

What skills do I need?

You will need to: Be confident to work with children and families. Be willing to work with children in a group setting. Be comfortable communicating with children and families. Be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. Be able to move around the children’s library. Be happy to work as part of a team. You do not need to be a good singer, just enthusiastic!
