Are you a friendly, caring person who would like to make a difference to a lonely or isolated older person living in Northamptonshire by making a regular weekly telephone call for a friendly chat and to provide a listening ear? As a telephone befriender you can make a huge, positive difference.
Volunteers must be aware of the limitations some people endure so the need to be able to listen without judgment - essential. Essential - access to a Smartphone or Computer. Volunteers must be able to attend training and understand the importance of providing feedback following each telephone call via an App, which reports back to the Volunteers Co-ordinator, Age UK Northamptonshire. Volunteers must commit to contacting at least three clients on a weekly basis.
