Do you have an interest in military history?
The historic Royal Ordnance Depot in Weedon Bec are looking for volunteer stewards, who play a vital role in helping visitors get the most out of their visit; from providing a warm welcome, helping people find their way around the displays and keeping visitors safe while onsite.
It is an opportunity to meet new friends and learn more about the history, and be part of preserving the history of the depot.
Once known as The Royal Ordnance Depot, the complex was built as a secure place to store equipment, ammunition and weapons for use by the British Army. The Depot fulfilled its function from the Napoleonic Wars through to the end of National Service and serviced every major conflict in-between.
If you would like to find out more about volunteering at the Depot we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch for a chat and a look around the depot.
More information about what we do can be found here; https://the-depot.uk/the-visitor-centre/
If you have an interest in history, good communication skills, a few hours to spare, and the ability to travel to the site in Weedon Bec we would love to hear from you.
